Hello Everyone, I want to start out by thanking my staff once again on a job well done. As I stated in our meeting there have been no complaints. I know that I push you at times but look at what we are turning out and most of all the dogs we are not only saving but giving them a chance at a normal life. Keep up your good work and devotion! Next I want to discuss something that has been bothering me about the dog training business. I went to a demo the other day and upon speaking to the potential client found out that a competitor had been there prior to me and upon his evaluation of the dog stated, " the dog needs a board and train( the most expensive) and there is a possibility that you may have to put the dog to sleep." I did an evaluation on the dog and found that the dog merely lacked social skills and structure. The dog needed a couple of private lessons at home and then we would move him into group (the cheapest). The first thing I noticed about the dog was that he did not know how to greet people nor could he handle someone just reaching out to pet him. Why would another trainer take a dog and put him in Board and Train where most of the lessons are one on one with a trainer and expect the dog to learn behavior around strangers. Why would a trainer take someone’s money and say, "he may have to be put to sleep." Be very wary of trainers that are one dimensional. Maybe this trainer knows what he can't do so he tells the client what the end result may have to be. Yes, he wanted to be paid everything up front. Hmmm, look out people they are out there. Check your trainers credentials, make sure he was certified somewhere as a dog trainer and not just certified on equipment to train dogs with. The next thing is our school just continues to grow and grow. Our Junior handlers are doing fantastic. We are starting a couple of new police dogs and our civilian class is looking great. I want to thank my brothers and sisters at the Medford police Department for thinking of me and the Central Record newspaper for the story. It makes me feel great that I have friends like that. I miss you all very much...keep your head down and come home safe every night. I am here for you too. Puppy school is doing great and I love watching the little curtain climbers train. Remember they don't stay small forever so love'm up. We have numerous events coming up so I am asking that clients step up and run some events for us. I think one day we are at three places at once. A judge from the A.K.C. was out to watch me run class one morning and she was impressed and had a lot of questions...that's a good thing! Watch the training schedule for changes. I am running training all day now so keep an eye on the times that classes start. Keep training them and loving them..........Perry
