Antonia, Chloe and Bella

Dear ACDT Team,

We have been around for a short time with the ACDT family. It has been a trip to watch our dogs develop so quickly. We began approximately in March with two Cane Corso puppies, Antonio and Gia, and a 3 year old boxer that we rescued from people who just didn’t understand Chloe. We never thought they would be able to do what Perry had shown us that Odie could do. Not our dogs who would rather attack each other and play then listen to us with commands. Boy we were wrong. We began with home lessons and all the dogs seemed on board with training but had moments of relapse as puppies do. We were more concerned with getting the puppies trained since Chloe already had obedience training under her belt. Perry suggested we begin group lessons so the family loaded into the SUV every Sunday for a couple of months and joined Perry and Terri with training classes. Of course we needed to change days as this was the day the working dogs trained and they soon needed to do offsite and more intense training that our babies just weren’t ready for. We weren’t sure how this would go over as it wasn’t just changing training days but also would be changing trainers as well. All the ACDT clients know how Perry is and well he sometimes goes easy on the puppies if they give him “the look”, the pushover that he can be it works every time and training can be shorter then usual. We arrived at our first training night and were introduced to the new trainers, Tracie and Alicia Williams. I won’t say there weren’t a few bumps in the road in the beginning, Tracie being the Driveway Nazi and making sure Mark slowed down when coming into the facility. Yes I did say Driveway Nazi. We have now been training for several months and unfortunately lost one beloved puppy to a tragic accident but keeping Antonio in the training with Tracie and Alicia was the best thing for him. The light bulb went on a little over a month ago and I really believe it is to the credit of the excellent and hands on training he received from them. Anytime we addressed a specific issue, it was addressed in training until the concern was no longer. If it took one on one training, that is what was done. I’ve read in many of other clients testimonials that ACDT is very professional and although that is very important I think the more important talent they have to mention is the compassion and overall caring for not just the animals being trained but also for the individuals being trained to handle their babies. If something is not working for you they will come up with another option until it works. You can’t say that for a lot of organizations. Now I have to mention, I have friends with dogs in other training facilities that have since graduated and their dogs barely sit on command much less are controllable as mine are. I can without any concern walk my dog past anyone or any other animal and know that Antonio will listen and act responsibly. Maybe better than some children do. No they don’t do training for kids, at least not yet.

We now have another Cane Corso puppy named Bella who will begin her group training once ACDT returns from vacation. She has completed the wonderful puppy course at ACDT and she had a blast spending time with the other puppies. We all slept well those nights that we had class. I know that her training advancement will go as well if not better with Tracie and Alicia at our side. They are wonderful at what they do and deserve to be commended for jobs well done. It is truly wonderful to see people whose jobs really don’t look like work but instead look like they are doing what they love to do. I hope ACDT knows how lucky they are to have committed and talented staffed trainers like these two. Hats off and keep up the great work.
Thank you from our small pack,
