To the ACDT team!
My name is Brittany Lawyer and I am 16. I have been coming to ACDT for a few months with my dog Oreo, who is almost 9 years old. I am not Oreos original owner. I got her from a woman who found her and two other puppies on the side of the road in a card board box. This woman could no longer take care of the puppies because she had to take care of her father who had cancer. I was lucky enough to have parents that were easy going about pets and they decided that one more dog would not hurt. Oreo was never a bad dog, and never gave us any reasons to come to training, but I wanted something I could do with just me and my dog. My family members would always tease me about how stupid my dog was because she didn’t know very many commands compared to our beagle, but now my dog is the smart one! The training has brought Oreo and I so much closer together and I love it! Oreo is so well behaved and even my parents and people who come over say that I have such amazing control of her, and I tell them that I wouldn’t if it wasn’t for everyone at ACDT.
Everyone at ACDT has been so wonderful to me and Oreo. I love coming to classes and meeting new people and seeing everyone’s dogs, I feel that I learn a lot from what other people do at lessons too. It is wonderful how everyone is like a family there, and it makes me feel at home and I have a lot of fun and I know Oreo does too. You all have really made my life and my dogs’ life so much happier. Oreo sits, downs, turns, looks, and heels. I could never imagine her doing that about a year ago. When I first brought her in she had some dog aggression but now she can stand them and is almost 100% better. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!
Thank You So Much Everyone At ACDT! You all really know what you’re doing and I hope you don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!
Thanks for Everything!
Thanks,
Brittany & Oreo
